Andrew Duff is a garden and landscape designer whose work is rooted in the relationship between house, garden and the landscape beyond.

With more than thirty years’ experience, Andrew creates gardens that are individual to their setting, shaped by architecture, landscape, history and, above all, the people who will use them. His approach combines strong spatial design with a deep understanding of planting, creating gardens with structure and character that become richer and more beautiful as they mature.

Every project begins with looking carefully at what is already there: the qualities of the site, its surroundings, its architecture, light, views and sense of place. From this comes the design. The aim is not to impose a particular style, but to create a garden that feels as though it belongs, natural, purposeful and entirely its own.

Andrew works on private gardens and larger landscapes in the UK and internationally, from urban gardens to substantial country estates. His work has been exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and has been recognised in leading garden and design publications.

Alongside his practice, Andrew is an educator, writer and speaker. He has taught garden design for many years and is particularly interested in the relationship between landscape, art, architecture and culture. Teaching and designing continually inform one another, keeping his approach curious, questioning and evolving.

At the heart of the practice is a belief that a successful garden should do more than look beautiful. It should create a sense of place, connect us to the landscape and become part of the way we live.
