Shropshire
This is an exciting project in the incredible landscape of Shropshire. A new build house designed by the American architect Mark Foster Gage. Part of the design is a new walled garden. The design is a modern interpretation on a space pulling in influences from the local vernacular. Lines taken from the architectural detail of the new house form the layout for the garden and will be built from stone and brick to match the house.
Somerset
A new country house overlooking the beautiful Somerset levels. The client has requested an English garden, which links the new house to the landscape. The architecture is Georgian and so a sweeping semi circular ha ha creates uninterrupted views out whist a formal garden hugs the house with perennial boarders and topiary lawns.

The Langham Hotel, London
The Langham Hotel is the most prestigious luxury hotel in London. To extend the use of the hotels garden spaces Andrew has designed a series of pierced screens, which curve around to create individual spaces to relax away busy streets of London. Large water bowls planted with water lilies will reflect light into the space together with planters of English planting including herbs for the kitchen.
Winchester
Set below the rolling hills near to historic Winchester, this garden, beside the River Itchen, will form part of an existing space. With two natural springs the garden will be based on the calming influences of a Japan whist using plants and materials appropriate to the site. The client requires a space ‘to breath’ as they return from long evening walks across the water meadows.
Oxfordshire
A beautiful mill close to an Iron Age hill fort is the perfect location for this sculpture garden. Designed for the sculptor David Harber, Andrew is creating a formal garden surrounding the modern extension to the original 13 century mill house. This garden fragments into meadow and orchards. These wilder spaces will have mown paths and spaces to position sculpture.
Kent
Tucked away on a private estate in Kent is a John Brookes garden designed in 1989. The client has asked Andrew to restore the space and modernise the original design. A challenge in terms of respecting the legacy of an important Brookes garden whist meeting the changing needs and aesthetic of the client.
